MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Ashley

Q: What brought you to CrossFit in the first place? 

A: Devan suggested it to me and I had been curious about CrossFit in general and wanted to find a more accountable gym.

Q: What was your first impression? How has that changed? 

A: I was a little intimidated at first and didn’t think I’d be able to keep up or even be able to do half of the workouts. I quickly realized it was easy to modify and make more realistic goals for myself while I get stronger. 

Q: What was your first “bright spot”? 

A: When I realized I am pretty good with the row machine. 

Q: What’s your favorite CrossFit CTRL memory?” 

A: I was pretty excited when I got my PR in the deadlift at 205lbs.

Q: What do you love most about CrossFit CTRL? What keeps you coming back each month? 

A: I love the people. It’s nice to be surrounded by a group of people with health and other similar goals as their focus.

Q: Who Inspires you? 

A: Everyone that consistently goes to the gym inspires me to stay persistent.

Q: What is your current occupation? What are some hobbies, clubs, groups, or activities you participate in? 

A: I work as a graphic designer at and engineering firm… so lots of sitting which means I love to get outdoors as much as possible and do things like: kayaking, hiking, and biking. I also love art: painting and drawing.

Q: What would you say to someone you love to encourage them to try CrossFit CTRL? 

A: Just try it. It is not easy and it is hard to be motivated but the feeling of seeing improvements and results will make you feel great about yourself.
