Q: What brought you to CrossFit in the first place?
A: I needed to develop structure and accountability for exercising back into my schedule.
Q: What was your first impression? How has that changed?
A: At first, it can seem overwhelming with no prior experience in a CrossFit gym with lots of new movements and not knowing all the terminology. However, it gets a little easier as you learn more but it’s still ever evolving. Change is good even when it’s hard.
Q: What was your first “bright spot”?
A: I think it was pull ups even with a band. That’s when I realized I had gained some upper body strength.
Q: What’s your favorite CrossFit CTRL memory?”
A: The workout on Thanksgiving as a whole was a favorite since it was really challenging. It was a combination of running 200s with push ups, squats, abs, etc on repeat. It felt good to have that heart pumping workout in before the holiday meal.
Q: What do you love most about CrossFit CTRL? What keeps you coming back each month?
A: I love the workout variety. I keep coming back because I’m getting and gaining more strength while being encouraged to do more.
Q: Who inspires you?
A: All of the 6 am class
Q: What is your current occupation? What are some hobbies, clubs, groups or activities you participate in?
A: Business and Financial Manager. I enjoy time spent with my husband, step-daughters, family and friends, walking the dog, ranger rides, and love traveling to new places.
Q: What would you say to someone you love to encourage them to try CrossFit CTRL?
A: Give it a chance. I’m not someone who would do group workouts before but this is a great atmosphere to be challenged.
