Why snacking is killing your weight loss

If you’ve rode the assault bike you know just how hard it is to burn 100 calories.

Seriously, all that work for 100 calories?

Now lets see how easy it is to gain that 100 calories with a few examples:

  • 1/12 of a pint of Ben and Jerrys
  • 9/10 Reese’s cup
  • 1/3 slice of pizza
  • 2 oreos
  • 8 oz of soda
  • 23 M&Ms
  • 9 chips
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
  • 1/3 McDonald’s cheeseburger

Let’s be honest, we don’t stop at 1/12 when there’s 11/12 left. We don’t stop at 2 Oreos, or 9 chips, or just eat 1/3 of the burger.

These little snacks can add up to unnecessary additional calories.

What are some better options? Foods that are less calorically dense. Here’s another example of 100 calories:

  • 25 strawberries
  • 16 oz package of spinach
  • 1 banana
  • 129 blueberries
  • 1 apple
  • 25 baby carrots

These choices can make the difference you’re looking for.
