Q: What brought you to CrossFit in the first place?
A: I didn’t want to just lose weight, I wanted to get in shape and I needed help (A LOT) doing it!
Q: What was your first impression? How has that changed?
A: Crossfit always carries that stigma; this was the opposite. There’s all walks of life that come to this gym and everyone brings something to the table. I love the variety and the different things I take from each person. I walked into my 1630 class intimidated and left encouraged, wanting more–it just keeps getting better.
Q: What was your first “bright spot”?
A: Coach Matt blazing by me in the Turkey Trot. I didn’t know he was going to be there but it felt awesome having the support and made me want to be better! He kills it so I was trying to throw down too! Don’t tell him that.
Q: What’s your favorite CrossFit CTRL memory?”
A: Mmm. Too many. Standing up on the podium with everyone and kicking it with my best girl Chris Stempien during my first competition.
Q: What do you love most about CrossFit CTRL? What keeps you coming back each month?
A: THE PEOPLE. It’s not just a gym but a family–I think Devan and crew put in the time to make it what it is. It’s good for me physically, mentally, and even spiritually!
Q: Who inspires you?
A: I can’t pick one…but if I had a specific–the amazing coaches and as mentioned before–my 1630 crew. I can’t resist scraping myself up off of the floor with those guys (this is real).
Q: What is your current occupation? What are some hobbies, clubs, groups or activities you participate in?
A: ER Nurse with a side of whitewater rafting! Anything outdoors honestly. Reading and my dog, Ro.
Q: What would you say to someone you love to encourage them to try CrossFit CTRL?
A: Change your life
